When you need this form

Outdoor assets fail quietly. A lifted path edge, a corroded balustrade, a blocked pit, a dead branch over a car bay: none of it gets reported until someone trips or something falls. This inspection walks the grounds and car park, records the checklist result, logs defects with photos and assigns corrective actions. Owners, insurers and playground and tree inspection regimes all expect a scheduled record.

Public liability lives outdoors. When a claim arrives, the question is whether the hazard was known and what was done about it. A dated inspection with photos and a closed corrective action answers it. If the work is subcontracted, the client still holds you to the service levels, so a record you can produce per site is what keeps the contract.

• Line marking, wheel stops and bollard condition recorded, damage photographed.
• Trip hazards described precisely, with a location marker or reference point.
• Lighting outages, blocked pits and standing water logged with severity.
• Corrective action raised per defect, with an owner and target date.
