When you need this form
Regular safety walks are the backbone of a construction site's WHS system. Weekly inspections, pre-start checks after a design change, and targeted walks when a principal contractor flags a defect all need a written result. Scaffolding, edge protection, electrical leads, housekeeping and plant exclusion zones are the usual failure points, and each one needs an owner and a due date once it is raised.
An inspection is only worth the close-out. Photograph the defect, assign the action, then photograph the fix against the same item and the loop is visibly closed. Regulators, insurers and principal contractors all read that trail the same way: a paper form shows an issue was seen, a live record shows it was fixed and when.
What good looks like
- Every checklist item marked, including the ones that passed cleanly.
- Defects photographed in context, showing the hazard and its surroundings.
- Corrective actions with a named owner and a due date.
- Risk rating applied so critical defects stop work, not queue.
- Close-out photo and inspector sign-off, both timestamped and location-stamped.

Site safety inspection, answered
Is this a PDF or Word template?
Neither. It is a live form: your crew opens it on their phones, ticks it through, attaches photos and signs on the glass. Every submission is timestamped, GPS-pinned and stored as proof.
How often should site safety inspections be done?
Most builders run a documented walk weekly, plus checks after incidents, weather events or major changes to the work. Set the frequency in your safety plan and keep every completed inspection.
What should a site safety inspection record include?
Checklist results item by item, defects with photos, a risk rating, corrective actions with owners and due dates, close-out evidence and an authorised sign-off. Undated findings with no owner do not count.
Can I buy just this one form?
